About Me
Hi!
My name is Ed Akehurst. My passion is helping others learn how to improve their skills to better their lives.
I’ve been in sales and marketing since 1983, and working online since 2006. I’ve seen many successes during those years, but perhaps more importantly, I’ve made a lot of mistakes. It’s the mistakes that best qualify me to help others, because I can help others have a much better chance of not making the same mistakes I did.
That cuts down on the learning curve! Significantly!
A little about me personally: I am married and have three grown children, and 4 grandchildren. You can see me with my oldest grandchild in the picture below. She was one year old in that picture, but is now four! That does not seem possible!
My wife and I (also pictured below) enjoy travel, movies, dining out, and live music. For hobbies, I enjoy motorcycles, chess, board wargaming, reading, music, and the study of philosophy and Sanskrit texts. If you have an interest in any of those, I am always up for a good chat.
I had the opportunity to take a few years off work and travel around the country with a friend of mine who has a very successful blues band. My wife and I took the kids on the road a lot and homeschooled them. It was a uniquely gratifying experience. That is the type of thing that can be done with a lifestyle business, because it doesn’t need a time card punched 40 hours a week.
In the past, I have been involved in digital product creation, direct sales, affiliate marketing, network marketing, as well as coaching.
I love to write, and I wrote a book called Get More Customers: Easy Online Techniques for Your Offline Business. It is available on Amazon and at major book sellers, such as Barnes and Noble, but is probably a bit overdue for a second edition. It is an evergreen book discussing on-page and off-page SEO, and is not just for offline businesses, although that is it’s focus. While it is evergreen, some of the techniques have been markedly improved since then – this the need for a newer edition.
I am currently writing a book on my experience in delving into the fascinating world of ancient Sanskrit texts, although it is a work in progress, and may be a few more years before it sees the light of day.
Have a look around the site. It is for newcomers and veterans alike, and I sincerely hope you find it helpful and beneficial.
